Green curtains of light dance in the skies north of Weyburn late the evening of Jan. 24, as the Aurora Borealis was visible. The sun exploded with large solar flares a few days before, causing the display of the Northern lights to be visible for a couple of nights at various points around the world. The lights are caused as particles of energy go through Earth's atmosphere following the large flare extending outwards from the sun.
