Stoughton student wins poster contest

Rayah H. Will of Stoughton Central School was one of four grand prize winners in the ninth annual SaskPower "Energy & Our Environment" poster contest.

Rayah H. Will of Stoughton Central School was one of four grand prize winners in the ninth annual SaskPower "Energy & Our Environment" poster contest.The contest invited grade 5 and 6 students from across the province to create posters with an environmental theme that demonstrate how everyone can incorporate responsible environmental choices into their daily lives, and take action in response to climate change. SaskPower received 492 submissions from students at 39 Saskatchewan schools.For her winning entry, Rayah will receive a mountain bike and bicycle helmet. In addition, her school will receive educational material on climate change for the school library and $250 toward the purchase of landscape materials from a local nursery to be planted on school grounds. Teachers and students will each receive a free SaskPower Shand Greenhouse tree seedling.
