The Family Place, St. Dominic Savio School and the employees of the Weyburn Co-op are hosting a benefit brunch for the James and Shauna Donison family.

The Donison's eight-year-old son Riley, a Grade 3 student at St. Dominic School, is currently at Pasqua Hospital in Regina. He is receiving radiation and chemotherapy treatment for a fast-growing tumour. James remains at his son's side in the hospital.

James is a well-known deliveryman for the Weyburn Co-op Foods Store. Last year, James donated a kidney to enable a life-giving transplant for a family member. He lost much time at work while he recuperated.

The couple had a baby girl in November and they also have a three-year-old daughter to care for.

The community is being asked to help this young family during this season of giving. The family does not need toys or other articles for Christmas, what they do need is money to pay their bills and for other necessities - house, food, travel to hospital, etc.

The brunch will be held on Sunday, December 19 at McKenna Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with pancakes, sausages, muffins and beverages being served. The brunch is $6 per person.

Silent auction items will be available to purchase and donations can be made during the brunch or at the Weyburn Credit Union (Donison Family Trust Fund).
