'Tour for Humanity' comes to Weyburn

Students from St.
Tour for Humanity

Students from St. Michael School raised their hands as education associate Daniella Lurion asked them how many would be going on social media as soon as they got home from school, as she talked to them about issues around tolerance, racism and respect, during a visit by the “Tour for Humanity” bus to Weyburn on Wednesday and Thursday. The bus is a travelling program from the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre for Holocaust Studies, and made a presentation to several classes at the Weyburn Comprehensive School on Wednesday, and at St. Michael School on Thursday. She talked of historical examples of racism and hatred, such as during the Holocaust, and of people who spoke up to make a difference, like Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Anne Frank, and told them they could also make a difference such as when they go online.
