Motorists gingerly drive through water flowing over Highway 39 near the Viterra Terminal on Wednesday, with the water coming from a large flow going over a grid road nearby. This was part of the release of spring runoff throughout the southeast area, with the Souris River flooding some parts just outside the city, and forcing closure of the Government Road bridge by that evening as the river continued rising.
