Weekly RCMP report

For the week of Friday, Jan. 17, to Thursday, Jan. 23, the Carlyle detachment of the RCMP received 54 calls to service. 911 calls A 911 call in Redvers came through with a static line. The cause was indeterminate.

For the week of Friday, Jan. 17, to Thursday, Jan. 23, the Carlyle detachment of the RCMP received 54 calls to service.

911 calls

A 911 call in Redvers came through with a static line. The cause was indeterminate.

While an individual was trying to dial out from the bar 911 was misdialed.

Abandoned vehicle

An abandoned vehicle was reported between Arcola and Kisbey. The vehicle was determined not to be a hazard. The vehicle had a flat tire and a tow truck had already been arranged for it by the driver.

Assaults

There was an assault in the Carlyle area which remains under investigation.

A second assault in the Carlyle area saw the complainant decline laying charges on the assailant.

An assault in Carlyle occurred, but no one was charged in relation to the call.

In Arcola an assault was reported, but charges were declined.

Assistance

Assistance to the Regina Police Services for various files were requested including issuing a ticket, issuing a warrant, and helping with an accident.

Assistance was given to the Winnipeg Police Services regarding an accident, as well as the Broadview detachment for another accident.

Assistance to the general public in Manor was given regarding a civil matter: damage to a vehicle.

On Hwy 13 a stranded motorist near Redvers called for help, but they were gone upon the RCMP's arrival.

Assistance was given in Wawota to parties involved with a rental agreement.

Assistance was given near Carlyle along Hwy 9 in regards to a mental health concern. They were taken to the doctors and there were no problems.

EMS was given assistance regarding a mental health patient in the Carlyle area.

RCMP were asked to locate an individual in Manor who the caller had not spoken with in a week. The individual was found.

EMS and RCMP attended a call to the Carlyle area regarding a suicidal female.

False alarms

False alarms occurred at a number of businesses within Carlyle RCMP's coverage area. An alarm at a business in Arcola sounded, but a cause was not determined. In Carlyle an alarm was set off, but it was because there were employees in the building. An alarm in Manor went off, but a cause for it was undetermined. Finally an alarm in Arcola was set off, but an individual at the business accidently hit the panic button by mistake.

RCMP were asked to attend a fire call, which was cancelled. The fire alarm was triggered, but there were no flames or smoke and it is likely the system sensor had moisture in it which caused a malfunction.

Fraud

Attempted fraud in Carlyle occurred when someone claiming to be with Windows 7 called a local claiming there were troubles with hackers recently and they needed access to the individual's computer.

A second case of fraud is currently under investigation as an individual apparently used another person's ID to purchase a vehicle.

Mischief

There was a report of mischief at a residence in Redvers. No charges were laid.

Mischief was also reported in the Carlyle area where intoxicated individuals were attempting to gain access to a house. They were gone upon RCMP arrival.

Another case of mischief in the Carlyle area was reported when intoxicated individuals refused to leave a residence. They too were gone upon arrival of RCMP members.

Mischief in the Carlyle area of an individual refusing to leave a residence was reported, but they had left prior to police arrival.

Traffic infractions

Speeding tickets were issued during this time all on Hwy 9 near Carlyle and through White Bear. A 72-year-old male was ticketed $134; a 39-year-old female was fined $184; a 58-year-old male was charged $131; a 28-year-old male was ticketed $133; a 45-year-old male was fined $133; a 33-year-old male was charged $133; a 31-year-old male was fined $131; a 27-year-old male was ticketed $131.

Erratic drivers were reported near Kisbey and Redvers during this time, but both were not located.

Theft

Reported gas theft in Carlyle is currently under investigation.

A possible theft in Redvers was reported. Family members were upset that an elderly woman was giving money to her daughter and the rest of the family didn't like it. RCMP were unable to assist because it was a civil matter.

Suspicious person

A suspicious person in a vehicle was reported. The driver was slumped over the steering wheel, so the caller was unsure if the driver was alright. EMS and RCMP were dispatched, but everything was found to be fine.

Vehicle collisions

A single vehicle collision occurred when it struck the ditch north of Carlyle.

In Carlyle a traffic accident is under investigation. Two vehicles were parked next to each other and while the one person opened their door the other vehicle's door was dinged.

A rollover was reported near Arcola. It was a single vehicle, which had caught the side of the road and went into the ditch.

Uttering threats

Two cases of uttering threats were reported. The first instance was determined to be unfounded, while the second case an individual asked the RCMP to issue a verbal warning to the other party.

Other calls

Breach of peace occurred in the Carlyle area where an individual was arguing at a residence. Assistance was also given during a second similar call in the Carlyle area.

Breach of court order was looked into in Kisbey regarding child custody issues.

In Carlyle a 27-year-old male failed to attend court, which has resulted in him being charged and a warrant was issued.

A possible failure to comply with conditions in Arcola was reported. No violations were found and charges were not laid.

An intoxicated individual was reported to be walking along a road in the area, but was not located.
