Weekly RCMP report

The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to 29 calls between Feb. 22 and Feb. 28. On Feb. 22 the RCMP responded to a complaint of a vehicle fire in Wawota. No one was injured and nothing else was damaged in the fire.

The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to 29 calls between Feb. 22 and Feb. 28.

On Feb. 22 the RCMP responded to a complaint of a vehicle fire in Wawota. No one was injured and nothing else was damaged in the fire. It was determined that the fire was caused due to a faulty block heater.

Members responded to a child custody issue in the area.

The RCMP were called to check on an intoxicated male walking on the highway. Members arrived and located the individual. The individual lied about their name and was extremely uncooperative. He also uttered threats of bodily harm towards the officers. The intoxicated male was therefore charged with four counts of failing to comply with a condition of undertaking, obstruction of a police officer, resisting arrest, uttering threats to an officer, and being intoxicated in a public place. The individual was released before a Justice of the Peace on conditions.

On Feb. 23 RCMP received a complaint from someone who received a call stating their computer was infected with a virus. The complainant didn't provide personal information or access to the computer as they felt it was a scam and reported it for information. RCMP caution people about giving out personal information, banking information, or computer access to anybody they don't know. If a banking establishment calls they should already have all of your pertinent information.

There was a complaint of a hit and run reported in the Redvers area. A vehicle had been left on Main Street on the night of Feb. 22 when the damage occurred. This matter is still under investigation.

There was a complaint of harassing phone calls and the RCMP are investigating this issue.

A complaint was received of a semi driver driving erratically at a high speed and was tailgating other vehicles. The matter is under investigation and RCMP are in the process of locating the driver.

A complaint of a vehicle rollover near Arcola was received by RCMP. The driver had left the scene. Everyone who had been in the vehicle were ok, but the vehicle was damaged. RCMP would like to remind everyone that if they are in an accident they are to report it to police as soon as possible.

On Feb. 24 there was a complaint of assault in Kisbey. Members attended and both parties were located. Both had been intoxicated and neither party wanted to give a statement. One of the parties agreed to stay at another house until sober.

There was an alarm in Carlyle and another in Arcola, both were investigated and were found to be false.

A complaint of a possible impaired driver was received. Members located the vehicle and found the driver had just gotten off work. The driver was tired and no charges were laid. RCMP would like to remind everyone that driving while tired is a hazard.

On Feb. 25 there was a complaint of theft of money. The complainant stated that money had been taken out of an account by gaining access through a bank card and pin number. This matter is still under investigation, but RCMP want to stress that people should not share their banking information including pin number with anyone.

An abandoned vehicle was reported to be parked next to the highway north of Carlyle. The vehicle was towed as it was an obstruction of the roadway.

There was a complaint of an erratic driver in the Redvers area. A description of the vehicle was taken and patrols were made; but, members were unable to locate the vehicle.

RCMP received a complaint of a lost dog in the Carlyle area. The dog is a small black and white Sheltie. If anyone has any information contact the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP.

A complaint of a vehicle taken without consent was reported. Members investigated and the vehicle was later returned without charges though a warning was given.

On Feb. 26 the RCMP received a complaint of a vehicle hitting three deer near Wauchope. The vehicle was not drivable and there were no injuries to the driver.

Members received a complaint of domestic violence. RCMP attended. The victim was uninjured, but transported to a safe location. Victim Services were offered and the matter is still under investigation.

On Feb. 27 there was a complaint of a possible impaired driver. They had came close to hitting the ditch and then close to crossing the centre line. The driver was found and was not impaired, but admitted to not paying attention to the road. The driver was charged with driving with undue care and attention.

A complaint of an MVC near Wawota was received by RCMP. A vehicle was coming to a stop, but slid through the intersection and was struck by a semi. Both vehicles were damaged and one driver was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The matter is still under investigation.

RCMP were made aware of a rental dispute. Members advised both parties to call the rental's man.

On Feb. 28 there was a complaint of an abandoned vehicle near Manor. The vehicle was towed as it was blocking the roadway.

There was a complaint of an intoxicated male in a house. The members attended, found the intoxicated male and arrested him. He was then lodged in cells until sober and released on charges.

A complaint of vehicles racing down Main Street in Carlyle was received by RCMP. One vehicle and driver were located and issued a ticket for driving in a contest of speed. The second vehicle was not located, but the driver is known and a ticket will be issued.
