The senior girls' volleyball team will compete at provincials in Prince Albert this weekend. This event will bring to a close the last of the fall sports at WCS. Curling try-outs have already taken place, while basketball and wrestling will start their seasons soon.
On November 20 at 7:30 p.m., John McDermott will perform for the Weyburn Concert Series in the Cafetorium. On November 24 at 7:30 p.m., everyone is invited to a "Journey Down Memory Lane", a tribute to the 40's, 50's and 60's, presented by a group of performers from Saskatoon including Stephen Maguire, who recently performed at the Communithon.
There will be a basketball referees' clinic held at the school on November 21 starting at 6:45 p.m.
A post-secondary night will be held in the Cafetorium on November 22 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Representatives from the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Regina, Lakeland College, SIAST, Medicine Hat College, the Canadian Armed Forces, the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship Program, as well as others, will be in attendance to answer questions and give out information about opportunities for high school graduates to further their education.
Anyone still interested in purchasing magazine subscriptions or buying community cards are asked to contact the school and a SRC member will look after them. Both of these fund raising events are much needed to raise money for school teams and clubs. We thank the community for their support.
The next big event at WCS is the annual fowl supper, which will be held on November 27. Absolutely everyone in Weyburn and the surrounding area is invited to take part in what is usually the last fowl supper of the fall season.
