Shane Warner couldn’t believe his eyes when he checked his LOTTO MAX ticket for the Feb. 23 draw and discovered he won $100,000 on the ticket’s EXTRA draw.

Warner purchased his $6 LOTTO MAX and EXTRA ticket at the Prairie Sky Co-op Food Store, located at 215 Second Street in Weyburn, three days before the draw. He checked his ticket on the mobile app a couple days later.

“I had to check my ticket a bunch of times,” he said. “It all went by so quickly after that. I think the adrenaline kicked in. I was in complete disbelief!”

“I told my wife and kids and they couldn’t believe it either,” he laughed. “We are very excited about it!”

The happy winner said he has one big plan for his windfall – a family home.

“We bought a lot in the fall and have been making plans to build on it,” he said. “This will help move up our timeline.”

Warner won the EXTRA’s second-top prize by matching six of the seven numbers drawn – 5882730.
