The following is the press release issued by the Estevan Emergency Measures Committee. It was issued at 11 p.m.

The Estevan Emergency Measures Committee has made the decision to issue an Evacuation Order for the safety of the residents of the Willow Park Greens Trailer Park. This order is effective immediately.

The Saskatchewan Watershed Authority has advised the City of Estevan that they will be increasing the combined water release from Boundary Dam and Rafferty Dam to 550 cubic meters per second with the possibility of additional increases. This increase was effective at 9:00PM because heavy rainfall in the surrounding areas this evening which has increased the flows into both Boundary Dam and Rafferty Dam.

The situation has been monitored closely and the increased water flow over the last two days has raised the levels considerably. The Committee has had pumps running in Willow Park Greens Trailer Park; however, with the increased output the pumps are unable to keep up and the water is entering the Trailer Park.

The Evacuation Plan has been put into place and all residents of Willow Park Greens Trailer Park are being asked to report to the Registration and Inquiry Center located at Information Desk at the Souris Valley Aquatic and Leisure Center. Residents who will be staying at a location other than the Evacuation Center are still asked to register so that we have contact information for them. Anyone reporting to the Souris Valley Aquatic and Leisure Center are being asked to report through the south doors.

The Smile Services van is being used to transport people who have health problems or no way of transporting themselves. The Committee has arranged for locations for housing of pets that belong to the residents of Willow Park Greens Trailer Park.

The Souris Valley Leisure and Aquatic Center will be closed to the public until further notice from the City of Estevan.

The Committee is advising the public that the Estevan Water Treatment Plant is still operating normally.
