Woman sentenced in Weyburn Court

A 40-year-old Weyburn woman was sentenced in Weyburn Provincial Court August 9 on several drug related offences. Connie M. McWade was arrested and charged in June for Conspiracy to Traffic Cocaine, Trafficking in Cocaine and possession of proceeds of crime as well as a number of counts of breaching the conditions of her release.

The charges resulted from a seven month long Joint Forces Investigation involving the Weyburn Police Service Organized Crime unit, C.F.S.E.U. Saskatchewan (Regina Office), RCMP Survellance and Technical Units. She was arrested on June 22 in south Regina with two other co-accused during a drug transaction.

McWade was sentenced to serve four years in jail on the conspiracy to traffic cocaine charge. She received an additional three and a half years concurrent and two and half years concurrent for trafficking cocaine. She was also sentenced to two year concurrent for proceeds of crime and one year concurrent for the second proceeds of crime charge. She received a total of 54 months on five charges of breaching her release conditions also to be served concurrent to the conspiracy to traffic charges. There was also a forfieture order for her personal property.
