The Estevan Woodlawn Golf Club held its 2012 club championships on Saturday and Sunday. Nolan Rohatyn and Linda Murphy were the men's and ladies' champions. Rohatyn shot rounds of 71 and 74 to edge runner-up Scott Blackstock by two strokes.

Weyburn's Kathryn Groshong shows off the four gold medals she won at the SSFA provincial games held July 3-5 in Saskatoon at the Shaw Civic Centre.

The Estevan Golden Eels hosted their annual swim meet on Saturday at the Souris Valley Aquatic and Leisure Centre. The Eels had 47 members participating and won the meet with 774 points. Regina was second with 484 and Weyburn was third with 226.

It was harder than expected, but ultimately the Estevan Sherritt Coal Haulers survived their first game of the Baseball Regina bantam AAA playoffs.

This year the Saskota Baseball League was host to ten teams. The North Division made up of the Arcola Threshers, Carlyle Cardinals, Kenosee Cubs, Redvers A's, and the Wawota Pats.

Zack Sharp has always loved baseball. This love coupled with his natural ability has led to a baseball scholarship. In the fall Sharp will head to Crown College in Minneapolis, MN. Earlier this year Sharp had made a profile with a recruiting agency.

The Weyburn Silver Seals held their annual swim meet on July 7 with 48 club members participating.

Apparently they could still get better. After the Saskatchewan Roughriders' 43-16 victory in Hamilton in Week 1, head coach Corey Chamblin said he was looking for improvement from his defence in their Week 2 game at home to Edmonton Sunday afternoon.
