The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Parade of Lights on Thursday evening, with dozens of brightly-lit floats going through the downtown core with a light rain falling. There were many community groups, businesses and sports teams which had floats in this year's parade.

The Rotary Club of Weyburn hosted the 70th annual Festival of Carols on Sunday, with two performance at Grace United Church, featuring many community groups and choirs, including from schools and churches.

The Ennis Sisters - Maureen, Karen and Teresa - brought their tight-knit harmonies and East Coast-flavoured music to the Cugnet Centre in Weyburn, as part of the Weyburn Concert Series on Thursday evening. They sang well-known carols, some Christmas songs they have penned, and did some Irish step-dancing for the large audience.

A Grade 4 class from Legacy Park Elementary School had a tour of the art exhibit by Metis artist Phyllis Poitras-Jarrett at the Weyburn Art Gallery. They were asked to find a "spirit bead" specially placed in each work, and to choose their favourite work out of the exhibit.

Weyburn Soccer's boys and girls teams of all age levels hosted teams from FC Regina for a series of exhibition games on Saturday and Sunday at the Credit Union Spark Centre. Check the gallery for action from U13 boys on Saturday, and the U11 girls on Sunday afternoon.

Weyburn fire fighters brought in two and a half trucks' worth of toys, plus around $800 in cash donations, from a toy drive to the Family Place on Saturday.

Midale's Plus One Club hosted the annual Santa Parade on Saturday on Main Street, followed by a hot dog lunch at the curling rink, with visits with Santa Claus and a raffle draw.

A Service of Remembrance was held on Friday morning at Assiniboia Park Elementary School, with the Legion Colour Guard on hand for the ceremonies, and presentations by each class including poems and songs, and laying of wreaths.

The "Wild and Free" home-school group of families held their market on Wednesday at Knox Hall in Weyburn, with students showcasing and selling crafts, baking and other creations from their studies.

The Weyburn Comprehensive School held their annual fowl supper on Tuesday evening at the Cugnet Centre, with volunteers from students, parents, the Gold Wings team and Red Wings on hand to help. Live entertainment throughout the evening was provided by the Weyburn Comp's senior choir, RISE Choir and bands as people enjoyed their turkey dinners.
