On May 20, 2019 a new organization in Assiniboia called the Senior Songbird Society is presently inaugurating a new bird sanctuary in town.

Joe Fafard’s art will be on display at the Shurniak in June. Internationally acclaimed artist, Joe Fafard, was one of Canada’s most recognized and prolific artists. Sadly, he passed away in March 2019 in Lumsden, but his legacy continues.

The Assiniboia Skating Club organized a Broadway and cinematic-themed program at the Assiniboia Civic Centre Arena on March 29 with tickets by donation.

Tyler Willer passed away in a tragic ATV accident on October 25, 2015 . In remembrance of Tyler, the fourth annual Tyler Memorial Quad Derby will be held on April 6.

By Dan Archer The Assiniboia Rebels merited their Pee Wee B provincial title on March 23 after a hard-fought game at the Assiniboia Civic Centre, ending with a two-game total-point series win over the Kindersley Klippers.

First Assiniboia Scouts hosted youth from the Moose Jaw Scouts for their annual Kub Kar Rally on Saturday, March 9. Twenty-five youth from Assiniboia and Moose Jaw participated in the event.

On March 15-16, the Annual Ladies Bonspiel was held at the Assiniboia Curling Club. The theme of the bonspiel was plaid, perhaps in reference to the sport’s Scottish origins.

The Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC ) along with its member Arts Councils are proud to present James Hill and Anne Janellein concert.

The Assiniboia Senior Rebels are the 2018-2019 Notekeu League Champions, following a pair of weekend victories over their arch rivals, the Coronach Merchants, earning the 4-0 sweep.
