By Wes Bloom A nice, quiet crowd of dedicated music lovers showed up at the Prince of Wales Centre in Assiniboia to enjoy the gentle, soothing sounds of a three-piece folk group called ‘100 Mile House’.

Canadians are once again gearing up to celebrate their pride and passion for an industry that puts food on tables across this country and around the world every day.

The Assiniboia Composite High School Senior Girls basketball team held its ninth annual Pink Day game on February 2. This event is the culmination of several fundraisers in the fight against cancer.

Two players from the Southern Rebels were presented with league awards on February 3, by Mark Legare, PJHL executive member. Trey Tendler was named to the Bill Johnston (South Division) All-Star Team.

The Assiniboia and District Chamber of Commerce held an Excellent Service seminar at the Prince of Wales theatre on January 31. Gordon Wyatt from the Southeast Regional College was the educator.

‘Welcome Wagon’ of Assiniboia is now changed to ‘Welcome Assiniboia’. Al and Roseanna Wagner enjoy representing the businesses of Assiniboia and informing all newcomers about what Assiniboia has to offer.
