As I write this week's article, I admit to occasionally stopping to add another item to my lists: What to Pack and What Still Needs to be Done. In just five days I'm off to Saskatchewan and I can hardly wait.

The Gordon F. Kells High School Jr. and Sr. Drama Clubs will be presenting their plays I Don't Want to Talk About It (Produced by Playscripts Inc.) and Outside the Box (produced by YouthPLAYS) for the public. Both plays are by Bradley Hayward.

April 7 saw a successful softball umpire clinic hosted by Carlyle Minor Ball. Lyle Balogh of Langbank ran the softball clinic, which was open to train those just starting in the grass roots program, level one, level two, and level three.

A baby swallowed a toonie. The doctor said to watch him closely. When the doctor called to check on the infant, the mother said, "No change." Another Easter has passed and we have to ask ourselves if we experienced a change. It is not too late.

Between March 29 and April 4 the RCMP responded to 57 calls. On March 29 there was a 911 call of an individual hearing gun shots fired in the Carlyle area. RCMP patrols were made and stop checks were performed.

The Carlyle and District Leisure Board, commonly referred to as the Pool Board, has been hard at work organizing the 11th Annual Boogie Fest and hope to see everyone there again this year; so, mark your calendars for June 21 and June 22.

Aime Noel Gauthier died peacefully at the Moose Mountain Lodge in Carlyle on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the age of 95 years.
