Sometimes the most profound lessons are the easiest to overlook. Take a tomato plant, for instance. Just to the right of my computer keyboard sits a two piece porcelain tea cup and saucer-like flower pot.

Life is all about waiting; waiting to be born, to grow, to learn, to get job, to find a partner, to have a good time and finally waiting to go to a new world.

The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP have recently welcomed a new member. The new officer, Constable Ryan Drozdiak, graduated from training on April 2 and after a quick trip home to British Columbia he packed up his things and came to Carlyle.

With great sadness we announce the passing of Marie Anne Ludwig on April 1, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Estevan, Sask. She was born on October 28th, 1921 in the Landau district and lived most of her life in the Browning and Lampman areas.

In 2007 a boy in Nova Scotia went to his first day of Grade 9 wearing a pink polo shirt. Pink, a colour typically associated with girls was the catalyst for others at the school to begin bullying the youth.

The extremely talented cast and crew associated with Cornerstone Theatre delivered once again. Cornerstone Theatre held a successful spring performance with their production, "The Game's Afoot," by Ken Ludwig.

On Monday, April 8 the Relay for Life, a fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society, committee members held a registration night and team captain meeting.

Memorial service for Leonard Howard Lausch, late of Carlyle, was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13 from the Carlyle United Church with Rev. Sung Shim officiating.
