You had to be there to appreciate the passion of the moment: I was standing in the doorway of our canvas garage, waiting for a friend to pick me up for a Toastmaster's meeting.

Ron Carson of Lampman was the recipient of Saskatchewan's highest honour, the Saskatchewan Order of Merit, in Regina on Dec. 7.

Looking at where Premier Brad Wall's Saskatchewan Party now sits, it's hard to imagine it having many struggles in 2012. Its 64-per-cent and 49-seat win in the Nov. 7 election obviously gives it an unquestionable mandate to govern as it sees fit.

The Manor elementary school students, from kindergarten to grade 6, all worked together to perform a fun Christmas show for their family, friends, and community members.

"Need a little lovin' from the oven? Sweet Tooth has got you covered!" Seventeen-year-old Courtney Knibbs from Stoughton Central School was selected as the second place winner of the 2011 Community Futures YouthBiz competition.

Students in grades one to six got on stage and performed for a full house at this year's Christmas concert, held in the gymnasium of the Arcola School on Tuesday, Dec. 20.

A lot of us spend a lot of time complaining about the things we don't have, and not a lot of time appreciating what we do have, this is something I'm often guilty of doing.

The Carlyle District Lions Club is pleased to welcome Lion Jean Ebbes as a new member of our club. Jean has moved to our area from Bulyea where she was an active Lion for seven years.
