286:29. Ladies and gentlemen that figure may not mean a lot to you, but in fact it's a new Saskatchewan Roughriders record for the longest period of time between offensive touchdowns.

In a few short days, bumblebees, butterflies, dragons and dinosaurs will fill the streets. Halloween will see child after child will visit door after door with the pursuit of candy and treats on their minds.

Everybody says write about what you know, well in all fairness, I don't know a lot, at least not a lot about things that are worth writing about so I have decided to write about life in general.

Two years have passed since the grand opening of Shockwave in Carlyle. The facility, which is run by the Carlyle Pentecostal Assembly and managed by Pastor Matt Redstone, acts as a drop-in centre for everyone 12 to 18 years of age.

I admit that growing old(er) isn't easy for me. In spite of numerous health issues, I've always kept busy, owned and operated my own business for more than a decade and been involved in a number of community and non-profit activities.

Well it's now official. After being rumoured and speculated upon for months, the Saskatchewan Roughriders were eventually eliminated from post-season contention on Sunday thanks to their 29-18 home loss to the BC Lions.

If there is one thing most of us in Canada, and most of the industrialized world, take for granted, it's our food.
