I heard at work today that some people think that flood victims are making out well because the government is going to buy them new flooring and furniture. It made me cry to think that people could be so cold and I wanted to share my flood story.

Estevan (August 4, 2011) -Prairie farmers and producers hard hit with excessive moisture and flooding this growing season will receive some extra help from federal and provincial governments.

Recently I saw a mother and her teen daughter leaving a store. The mother looked sad and worried. The daughter, whose facial semblance was obvious, looked less worried and almost happy.

While constant rain and a wet racetrack may have resulted in a cancelled May Moto-X event, the warm weather has dried up the track and organizers are ready for the first of two races anticipated for Carlyle this year.

One would think losing to the last-place team in the CFL and dropping to 1-5 would signal rock bottom for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. However in this blogger's opinion they're nowhere near rock bottom but they can see it from here.

Visitors to Cannington Manor were transported back in time to a slower, gentler pace of living, at the Cannington Fair on July 31.

There are worst things for provincial economies than being a slave to the ups and downs of oil. But as the recent stock market swoon has shown, it isn't always the greatest thing, either.
