While waiting for a colleague this morning, I browsed through the gift and coffee shop where we were to meet. A small, somewhat pricey for its size, publication called my name. "Remember when" it began and I was hooked.

The other day I made a quick pit stop at my local grocery store to grab the onions I needed to make a pot of borscht (beet soup). It's one of my favourite types of soup to eat and I finally had a recipe I was dying to try out.

Moose Mountain Wildlife Federation held its 9th Annual Fundraiser Dinner and Auction on Apr. 2 at the Prairie Place in Arcola. The event started with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Fundraising started at 8 p.m.

This week I would like to talk about Nurses. I believe every family needs to have a nurse to help safely navigate through our health system.

The good news is that my wife got her income tax refund cheque the other day. We're just waiting for the bad news. Oh, it'll come, make no mistake.

Development plans for the Western Star Inn and Suites have been set in place. The 65-suite structure is slated to open at the end of October, 2011.

Soul whisperer or creative rant, you as reader may have to decide; but I will unfold the event and share its impact on me. Sometimes the Lord uses the instruments at hand to draw straight with crooked lines.

The message was clear. Impaired driving shatters lives. That was the message given to students at Gordon F. Kells High School on Monday, March 28th.

Arcola Daycare, a non-profit organization in Arcola, is getting ready for their main fundraiser of the year. "Spring Fling" will be held on Saturday, April 9th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Prairie Place in Arcola.

People throughout the world observed World Water Day on March 22nd. This initiative, started in 1992 by the United Nations, is a day set aside to acknowledge the value of water and the need to conserve the valuable resource.
