I was driving home very late at night in a blinding snowstorm when I noticed it. My car was on a upgrade and the engine began to labour. Then cough and grunt and moan. All of a sudden my motor began to sound like a truck engine.

Well, Wade Bell's 10 & under Carlyle team was in Estevan this past weekend for the Atom tourney. It was a bright and early start. The team was on the ice for an 8 o'clock game Saturday morning against the Weyburn Blues.

It's difficult to lose a loved one, so we have to do our best to keep them alive in memory.

For us, one of the joys of the 2010 holiday season will be to watch the festivities through the eyes of Lucy. Lucy Christina, our newest grandchild, will be nine months old on the last day of December.

Those who are driving through the community of Maryfield might have noticed a strange new resident in town.

Marny Duncan-Carey from Lumsden visited Stoughton library the evening of Nov. 17th. She was there to speak about her award winning book "Who's That Man".

Christmas is a time for family and a time for giving, and in a time of prosperity, it can be easy to overlook the fact there are families who do not have the means to give to the ones who mean the most to them - their children.

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, don't forget to give a little to those less fortunate. A great way to do this is to support the local food bank.

The father of five children had won a toy at a raffle. He called his kids together to ask which one should have the present. "Who is the most obedient?" he asked.

The owner of Crystal's Pet store in Stoughton presented her pets at the local library on the afternoon of Nov 24th. Assisting her was Darren Barnstable .
