Cooling temperatures have signaled the end of summer and beginning of, what is bound to be, a long winter season. As we well know by now, with winter comes flu season.

Story: The Carlyle RCMP detachment handled 57 calls from Sept. 12 to 19. Sept. 12 Emergency Services requested police members to attend to a suspected assault with a weapon in the area.

This week was Spirit Week at G.F. Kells. Students had a lot of fun showing off their school spirit on Pajama Day, Pirate Day, Crazy Hair Day, Disney Day, and Rider Day. The next School Community Council meeting will be held October 20.

For Shelley Fornwald and Melodie Willock, the decision to volunteer their time in raising money for cancer research was an easy one.
