The Christmas Spirit may be down a little bit this year due to the pandemic, but with a little help from Santa, the residents of Carlyle got a bit of a lift in their spirits. On December 12, Santa Claus made his rounds.

Again this year, the school will be collecting donations for the Carlyle and District Food Bank. Send your non-perishable food items to the school before Dec. 18.

It is the second week of December, where does the time go? Here it is nearly Christmas. The first Wednesday of each month brings us the tenants’ meeting where several topics were discussed concerning our residents.

“Since the limit of family members who can gather in the home is so small, and since funeral services allow up to 30 in some instances, I have decided to have a funeral for my turkey on Christmas Day.” Much is uncertain as Christmas 2020 approaches.

I don’t know if there has even been a time in history when we have been so aware of global happenings and have had so much information flooding our lives. Truly filtering out what is good, right and true is an exhausting endeavour for all ages.

If ever there was a tough Christmas, at least for a lot of us, it will be Christmas 2020. I won’t really miss the work involved in putting up and taking down the tree but that’s only because no one can come to share its beauty with us.
