I've always heard that if you're going to mess things up, make a good job of it. Based on that premise, this week I did an excellent job of demonstrating my skills. Anyone who knows me knows that I truly enjoy cooking, baking and entertaining.

A few years ago in Arcola a group of young girls showed interest in curling and successfully made it to 4H Provincial Curling. Seeing this interest Dwain “Cookie” Davis decided to help them with their technique and knowledge of the game.

The Wawota Curling Club welcomed young curlers to a bonspiel Saturday, Jan. 23 that attracted six teams, “ages eight to grade eight,” says club president Carla Weatherald. “We've held youth bonspiels before,” says Weatherald.

Board members Cornerstone Family and Youth held its annual general meeting Tuesday, Jan. 19 at CFY's office in the Carlyle Civic Centre. Two new members-Natalie Miller and Krista Ruckaber-were welcomed to the board.

The Arcola Optimist Club is encouraging people to come out and enjoy the day in town on Saturday, Jan. 30, to take in their annual snowmobile rally.
