The Carlyle RCMP detachment received 46 calls to service between Friday, Jan. 16, and Thursday, Jan. 22.

It lasted only about 58 hours--a pittance of time to be sure--but in those 58 hours it left its mark.

When it came time for the child to be baptised Doolan proudly stood by the font in St Anne’s church. “Now,” said Father Francis, “and what are we going to name the little one?” “Hazel,” said Doolan, with a smile. “Lord save us,” moaned the priest.

The Carlyle Pee Wee Cougars pounced into Arcola for an evening matchup on Wednesday, January 14 th . The action was fast and furious early on with Arcola drawing first blood, finding the back of the net just a minute and a half in.

We had a busy 2 weeks of hockey for the Novice Wade Cougars. We faced off against the Redvers Jody team in Redvers on January 9th and won with a final score of 13-6. The next day took us to Wawota where we took a big win.

It’s always interesting to read about reports which are being released in the area of agriculture. Sometimes they bring to light some intriguing information. At other times you are left wondering why it took a report to unveil the obvious.

New Semester Grade 10-12 final exams for Semester 1 will be from Friday, January 23, to Thursday, January 29. Friday, January 23, at 9:00 AM, is Grade 11/12 Pre-calculus.
