The Redvers Arts Council and the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Council (OSAC) will be hosting their first concert of the season by welcoming performing artist Jimmy Rankin.

It is sometimes interesting how something pops up one day, quite by happenstance and the next thing you know you see it popping up in other places. An example happened to me recently.

A woman gets onto a bus with her baby. The bus driver says, "That's the ugliest baby that I've ever seen. Ugh!" The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming.

The other day I read an interesting article on the BBC titled, A point of view: When historical fiction is more truthful than historical fact.

The Carlyle RCMP detachment received 41 calls to service from Sept. 19-25. Abandoned vehicle Members responded to the report of an abandoned vehicle near Redvers. The registered owner was contacted to have it removed.

Despite being a cool and somewhat windy, the Big Eagle Showdown was another success. Held for the Manor Fire Department races began at 2 p.m. with preliminary runs determining who would earn a spot in the feature events.

I love words. My fascination with them began as a child and to this day, playing with them, kicking sentences around and arranging the shape of articles into an intelligent and thought-provoking commentary delights me.

The Arcola Library happily hosted a celebration of the town's heritage with a day-long event on Saturday, Sept. 27. Part of Culture Days held from Sept.

At the invitation of town council, Carlyle citizens turned out to show their appreciation for former mayor and alderman, Don Shirley, at a thank you event Sept. 24 at Carlyle Memorial Hall.

Mrs. Rutten and 4 students from the Student Leadership Team just returned from the National Leadership Conference in Vancouver and Kelowna.
