Almost exactly one year ago Carlyle and surrounding area was plagued by physician recruitment difficulties and the temporary closure of the Arcola Hospital.

Cornerstone Family and Youth (CFY) held their annual general meeting at the Carlyle Public Library on Jan. 16 where a new board was selected for 2014.

Charles John Eisler, 82, of Houston, Texas peacefully passed away in his sleep on December 26, 2013 after a long illness. Charles was born October 26, 1931 in Manor, son of the late John Eisler and Anna Eisler.
