Between Dec. 20 and Jan. 2 the Carlyle detachment of the RCMP received 64 calls to service. 911 calls A call originating in the Carlyle area was determined to be false. A misdial occurred from a location in Carlyle.

On Jan. 4 the Carlyle Novice Cougars wend head to head with the Redvers Rockets. Mason Barta stared the team off with the first goal of 2014.

On Wednesday, Dec. 18, the town of Carlyle council members met for their bi-monthly meeting to discuss various topics regarding the town.
