In 1903 the first skating rink was established in Carlyle. Soon a friendly rivalry was developed with the nearby town of Arcola as games would be played in each town.

Chloe Rolufs (gr.11) of Arcola has been drawn to writing since a young age. Her mother, Billie, likes to write and when Chloe was younger she read and re-read a story her mom wrote.

Many students at Arcola School have a strong connection to the community and have recently been inspired to establish SMACK, "Students Making A Change with Kindness.

This letter is in response to Mr. Martin Tourand's letter published in the Carlyle Observer on Friday December 13 related to the proposal that suggested that Carlyle needs a new town hall.

The Town of Carlyle council members held their bi-monthly meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 4 to discuss a number of matters concerning the town.

The Carlyle Atom Cougars, coached by Brian Hagel, Todd Magotiaux & Troy Turner have had a difficult week. On Tuesday Dec 3rd, we visited Alameda to take on the Rink Rats. Our goalie Zane Winter has been having a great year.

A month ago, while attending a church conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia, a friend of mine and I visited Peggy's Cove, which is known as one of the most popular tourist attractions in Canada. Truly it was wonderful and beautiful scenery.

In the first game of the day, feeling comfortable in his equipment Alexander Bradley made some nice saves. While Grady Benjamin stood strong on the blue line, making sure the puck didn't cross the blue line.
