ESTEVAN — Estevan Fire Rescue had a busy start to June, with crews responding to four separate calls between June 2 and 8, Chief Rick Davies said.

On June 5, EFR was dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover east of Estevan at 12:03 p.m. Crews assisted on scene alongside Estevan EMS and RCMP. There were some injuries reported from the incident, Davies said.

The following morning, at 7:43 a.m. on June 6, crews responded to a motorcycle-versus-deer collision south of the city. Crews responded and assisted on scene. There were injuries reported, but extent of those was not known, Davies noted.

Later that week, around 10 p.m. p.m. on June 7, fire crews were called to a commercial fire alarm in the southeast area of Estevan. The alarm was deemed false, and EFR was not needed.

The final call came on June 8 at just before 1 p.m. for a gas spill in the northeast part of the city. A duty officer handled cleanup of the small spill.

Davies also confirmed that, although EFR had co-ordinated with Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) to prepare for possible deployment to help with northern wildfires, "we haven't been asked to deploy any resources as of yet."
