ESTEVAN — Three women who have been charged with aggravated assault made their first appearance in Estevan Provincial Court on Aug. 18.

According to a Saskatchewan RCMP news release, on Aug. 3, the Estevan RCMP received a report of an assault at a business in the Estevan area.

The RCMP says an investigation determined an altercation occurred between four females. One of the females was treated at hospital for injuries the RCMP described as "non-life threatening".

As a result of the continued investigation, the RCMP says three women – 18-year-old Hannah Michele Hortness, 21-year-old Madison Lynne Hortness and 21-year-old Taylor Anne Lorraine Raynard – were each charged with one count of aggravated assault under the Criminal Code. They have been released from custody.

All three had their matters adjourned to Sept. 15, also in Estevan.
