Wanted man turns himself in to Estevan police on multiple charges

Man was wanted for impaired driving, violating conditions. Police also lay assault charges.

ESTEVAN — An Estevan man turned himself in to the Estevan Police Service on June 2 on outstanding warrants.

He was wanted for impaired driving, failure to attend court, and failure to comply with conditions of a probation order.  He was arrested, processed and released to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on June 9.

That same day, EPS members attended to an east end residence in response to a reported disturbance. On arrival, they made contact with a resident who was experiencing a mental health crisis. The person was eventually transported to the hospital for medical assessment and care.

Police received a report of possible criminal harassment occurring during a dispute between two neighbours. The matter is still under investigation.

The EPS received a report of an individual trespassing on commercial property. Members attended, located the Estevan male and cautioned him about being unlawfully on commercial property. He was sent on his way.

A report was received of several youths walking on the railroad tracks during the dayshift. Members located the youths, explained the dangers associated with their actions, and advised them that it is an offence for them to be on CPKC Rail property.

A domestic disturbance at a residence in south Estevan was attended to during the nightshift. Members mediated a resolution to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

A report of a possible break and enter to a residence was investigated. On arrival, the subject of complaint had left the area and charges are pending for failing to comply with court-ordered conditions.

A report of a male breaking into a vehicle was investigated, and it was determined the suspect was the owner of the vehicle and attempting to unlock it after misplacing the keys.

EPS members responded to a complaint of yelling and screaming coming from a residence in east Estevan. The matter was determined to be a domestic disturbance. A resolution was mediated that resulted in one of the parties leaving for the night and agreeing not to return to the residence.

EPS responded to a complaint of a male breaching a court-ordered condition not to have contact with another person. Members patrolled the area of the reported offence but were unable to locate the subject. The matter remains under investigation.

EPS members arrested an Estevan male June 3 on outstanding warrants related to failure to appear in court. He was also charged with breach of probation. He will appear in Estevan Provincial Court in July to speak to the charges.

The EPS received a report of mischief that had been committed at Churchill Park. The matter is still under investigation and the EPS would like to ask that any suspicious activity observed in the city's parks be reported as soon as possible for the most effective police response.

Two dogs were reported to be running at large near the 600-block of Fourth Street. Members attended and located both the dogs and their owner, who was issued a ticket under the city animal bylaw for permitting his dogs to run loose.

A report of two unwanted individuals at a local apartment complex was investigated during the nightshift. The subjects of the complaint were located on the property and sent on their way after being cautioned against returning.

Following an investigation into a domestic disturbance at a residence that occurred May 31, a 21-year-old woman has been charged with assault and breach of probation. She was released on an undertaking with conditions to not contact the victim in the occurrence, and she will make an appearance in Estevan Provincial Court in August to speak to the charges.
