The Southeast U18 AAA Twins (8-10) wrapped up their regular season by splitting games on the weekend. The Twins opened the weekend with a doubleheader against the Regina Athletics at Lynn Prime Park. First was a 10-2 loss to the Athletics.

If you can’t go anywhere due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you might as well find a cottage and spend some time there.

Southeast College has been successfully navigating through the pandemic and now they are ready to greet the new students at all of their campuses.

One more person has died and 15 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Saskatchewan on Aug. 16, bringing the total to 1,580 cases. The person that has died, was in the North Central zone and was in the 80-89 age range.

Saturday night turned out to be busy for the Estevan Police Service. Police attended to a report of a loud party in the Trojan subdivision. The property owner was spoken to and warned under the bylaw.

There are 25 new cases of COVID-19 registered in Saskatchewan on Aug. 15, bringing the total to 1,566. One more person with COVID-19 patient has died. This person was in the South Central zone and was in the 80-89 age range.

Estevan Police Service (EPS) is having a busy end of the week with two arrests and other calls on Friday. Police arrested an Estevan man for possession of psilocybin (mushrooms).

Masks or other kinds of face covering were made mandatory in all Walmart locations all across Canada as of Aug. 12. This safety measure is aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19.

Thick black smoke spreading over Estevan Friday evening can be seen from miles away. The smoke is coming from the Regens Metals scrap yard. Estevan Fire Rescue Service trucks were seen on their way to the location at about 7 p.m.
