In follow-up to a survey of youth last year, the Saskatchewan RCMP is launching its first youth advisory committee.

A portion of one of Estevan’s busiest roads will have restricted traffic Tuesday. The 700-block of King Street has single-lane access for westbound traffic due to a water break repair.

In keeping with its recent water theme, the Government of Saskatchewan on July 20 announced a number of agricultural water management demonstrations across the province.

The Estevan U18 AA Brewers won three times on the weekend, winning 8-0 over the Regina Buffalos Saturday, and 19-5 over the Saskatoon Athletics and 16-3 over the Assiniboia Aces Sunday.

The Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) is known for bringing great art to the community through the exhibits it hosts each year in its two gallery spaces.

There are 19 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 20, according to the Ministry of Health, bringing the total to 962 cases. Five new cases are in the south region.

Three Saskatchewan cities are seeking to replace major medical facilities. The Estevan Regional Nursing Home, Yorkton Regional Hospital and Weyburn General Hospital are all in need of replacement, according to their respective communities.

The Estevan Salvation Army is once again holding its annual backpack campaign to help low-income families prepare for the start of the upcoming school year. The program will run in a similar fashion to past years.

The Estevan Motor Speedway had a large number of entries for its doubleheader weekend, and some fans in the stands for the first time this season. Sixty-seven vehicles were entered for Saturday night’s program, and 68 competed Sunday.

Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) responded to reports of assaults, threats and other infractions on the weekend. Police received a report of an assault Saturday that occurred at a social gathering at a residence.
