Five drivers from southeast Saskatchewan are the track champions for the Estevan Motor Speedway this year.

The Estevan Motor Speedway held another doubleheader, with races on Friday and Saturday night that attracted more than 60 drivers between its five divisions. It was also the Dirt Wars Weekend, with a focus on the hobby stocks.

The Government of Saskatchewan has announced $31 million in funding for a Rare Earth Processing Facility in Saskatchewan. Rare earths are just that – rare; they are not easily found or produced.

There are four new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Aug. 29, according to the Ministry of Health, bringing the total to 1,615 reported cases. Two cases are in the southwest region and two more are in the Saskatoon zone.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is notifying the public that an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 visited the Regina International Airport when the individual was likely infectious on Aug. 23 between 12:30 and 2 p.m.

Emergency crews were called to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Friday.

The Southeast College celebrated the grand opening Aug. 21 of its newest training facility and apprenticeship program.
