Environment Canada has confirmed that three tornadoes touched down in southern Saskatchewan on Saturday, as a series of powerful storms made their way through the province.

A Saskatchewan resident is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of a person reported missing earlier this month. Warman RCMP received a missing persons complaint July 2 for Samandeep Jhinger, a 23-year-old woman.

For the second straight night, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued by Environment Canada for the Estevan region during the overnight hours. The warning was issued for Estevan at 12:06 a.m. Sunday, and continued until 1:08 a.m.
