Three tornadoes touched down in Saskatchewan on Saturday

Environment Canada has confirmed that three tornadoes touched down in southern Saskatchewan on Saturday, as a series of powerful storms made their way through the province.

Environment Canada has confirmed that three tornadoes touched down in southern Saskatchewan on Saturday, as a series of powerful storms made their way through the province.

In addition to the tornadoes, hail as large as softballs was also reported in the region.

The first tornado reported was near the hamlet of Glenbain at 4:30 p.m. No damage was immediately reported.

The second was near the village of Kincaid about 10 minutes later. Damage to a home and farm property is still being investigated

The final tornado was near Assiniboia at 6:23 p.m. The town was hit hard by heavy rains and hail in the early evening hours.

Environment Canada says these storm assessments are considered preliminary and may be changed if more information becomes available.
