A community-wide bottle drive in Estevan proved to be a big success. Sector 1 Construction and Renovations held the event Saturday. People left their empty cans and bottles out for Sector 1 employees to collect.

A local woman received a special Mother's Day gift this year. Signs and posters were placed in front of the window of Valerie Granberg, who is a resident of Creighton Lodge, in a surprise tribute.

Saskatchewan has 11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, as of May 10, bringing the provincial total to 564. Nine of the new cases are in the far north, with three in the La Loche area, and two are in the north.

Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS) made an impaired driving arrest on May 9. As a result of a traffic stop at Eighth Street and 13th Avenue, a 19-year-old man from Estevan was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug.
