A familiar face will be the featured speaker at the final fundraising dinner for Spectra Place. Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke will headline the dinner which is scheduled for March 25 in the new facility.

For the First time since Rafferty Dam was constructed in 1995, the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority will be initiating a small winter release from Rafferty Dam beginning this morning (Monday January 10, 2010).

The Eagle Drilling Estevan Bruins have acquired 20-year-old forward Jonathan Ceci from the Nipawin Hawks in exchange for the rights to defenceman Tyler Mueller and forward Colton Schick, both of whom are 1994-born players.

Although the increase won't be as large as initially feared, property owners in Estevan will be paying higher taxes in 2011. In a year-end interview with The Mercury, Mayor Gary St. Onge predicted that an increase of .75 of a mill is likely.

It seems as if the missing man that was reported to have been located, is still missing. Due to miscommunication among various agencies, it was reported last week that Daniel Greenside had been located in North Dakota.
