The Million Dollars Auction is almost here. As part of the auction, people earn play money by spinning the auction wheel during live on location spots hosted by the radio stations at each of the participating businesses. They can also enter through promotions offered by the businesses, or through the popular Win Wednesday Facebook initiative on the Mercury’s Facebook page.

"It's going to be another exciting year for our 45th annual telethon. Our goal this year is $345,000. And all our efforts are going to be put into reaching that goal by the end of the weekend, October 16. However, it's also going to be a very exciting year for milestones," said United Way Estevan president Danny Ewen.

The city wants to make sure we get all that earthwork done before the fall and winter sets in.

Estevan Bruins used a four-goal period to propel them to victory over the Weyburn Red Wings.
