For the third straight day, Environment Canada has issued some form of a thunderstorm advisory for southeast Saskatchewan. The agency issued a severe thunderstorm watch Sunday afternoon at 2:32 p.m. for the region.

Members of the Estevan Police Service are saluting the organizers of the street dance held in Estevan on Saturday night and those who attended the event, the vast majority of whom were well-behaved.

The severe thunderstorm warning for the Estevan area has been lifted. Environment Canada issued the warning at 1:26 p.m.

There is one new case of COVID-19 to report in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, bringing the total number of active cases in Zone 4 to four. The new case was the only new one in the South East region reported on July 16.

The severe thunderstorm watch for southeast Saskatchewan has been lifted. Environment Canada issued the watch at 3:05 p.m. on Friday and lifted it at 7:37 p.m. .

Emergency crews were called to a collision east of Estevan Thursday evening. According to a news release from the Estevan RCMP, at approximately 5:20 p.m., crews were called to the accident at the junction of Highways 39 and 18 near Bienfait.

I talk to a lot of people each week and I have noticed a trend: bad news seems to be 10 times more common than good news. Now, if you think about it, that is not true. In fact, most people are blessed beyond measure.

The City of Estevan has provided an update on construction on Fourth Street. Fourth Street from Souris Avenue South to the 800 block remains closed due to construction as part of a water main replacement.

Environment Canada issued a heat warning for the RM of Estevan including Estevan and Hitchcock this morning. Temperatures will reach 32 degrees Celsius and above on Thursday, as well as other days this week and into the next week.
