A former member of the Estevan Bruins has earned a scholarship to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for the 2021-22 season.

Estevan conservation officers are asking for the public’s assistance with a recent incident. On Jan. 26, officers received a call regarding a bull moose that was shot and left behind.

The Estevan Fire Rescue Service had an active start to the month. On Feb. 1, at about 11 a.m., the crews were alerted to the report of a commercial fire alarm occurring in the central area of Estevan.

The water is back on in southeast Estevan, but the boil water order for those south of the tracks remains in effect.

A Lampman farmer has pleaded guilty to a charge under the Animal Protection Act. Chad Mokelky pleaded guilty last week in Estevan Provincial Court for causing or permitting an animal to be in distress. Two similar Criminal Code charges were stayed.

Hillcrest School has announced that classes are cancelled for Thursday due to a significant water main break in Estevan. The school is without water due to the break. Other buildings in the southeast corner are currently without water as well.

When I bought a condo back in 2013, one of the reasons I cited was that “13 years in Estevan’s rental market was long enough.” Granted, most of my experiences weren’t bad. The first few years I lived here were fine.
