I can’t remember any time when music wasn’t a huge part of my life. Although she didn’t read music, I don’t think a day passed when Mom didn’t play the piano. We loved it.

There is one new case of COVID-19 in the southeast region, according to the provincial Ministry of Health. The active case is in southeast Zone 2, which covers the northeast corner of this region.

Due to current COVID restrictions and the inability to host the event in its traditional format, the Estevan Farmer’s Appreciation Evening won’t be happening this year.

The weekly report for COVID-19 cases among Saskatchewan’s children and youth has been released. The report shows that two young people in the southeast region tested positive for COVID-19.

There are five new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Sept. 24, bringing the total to 1,835 reported cases. Two new cases are in Saskatoon. There is one each in the Regina, south central and central west regions.

The Estevan Fire Rescue Service (EFRS) and Estevan Police Service members were called to a two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon. The accident that turned out to be a hit and run occurred at about 3:30 p.m.

The Estevan Police Service has implemented a mask policy for its members. Starting Sept. 23, officers are to be wearing masks when responding to calls for service. Effective Sept. 24, anyone attending the station is also asked to wear a mask.

All Estevan Arts Council concerts, including the Koncerts for Kids series, have been cancelled for the 2020-21 season.

The Hearts and Hands Quilting Guild has once again produced a quilt for the United Way Estevan’s telethon. The quilt, which is currently on display at Henders Drugs, was created by guild members Linda Jones, Eileen McKersie and Avis Dronsfield.
