Weyburn – Dempsey Laird was honoured on June 3 as one of two Southeast Saskatchewan Oilmen of the Year. The award was presented at the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show in Weyburn. Ray Frehlick made the presentation.

Hometown Nazareth: Where Jesus was a kid will be the theme of the annual Vacation Bible School at the Weyburn Church of Christ from August 17 to 21.

The 19th annual Wheat Festival, held on August 6 to 9, was a huge success. Festivities held in various locations across the city offered many activities for people of all ages to enjoy.

Like many citizens of our community, the neighbour two doors south of us has a flourishing garden.

Linda Sheikh of Estevan has won $100,000 in the Lotto 6/49 Extra. Saskatchewan Lotteries reported this past week that every Tuesday, Sheikh takes her Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 tickets to the store for a retailer to check.
