The Weyburn Arts Council is calling all local artists to enter the local adjudication, which will run from March 15 to April 28.
The adjudication is an annual show, hosted by the Weyburn Arts Council and the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC). During the event, two professional artists are asked to judge and offer feedback on the entry pieces that are showcased.
Artists are invited to submit three or five pieces (must enter five to win) on a theme of their choosing. Adjudicators will meet with artists on Friday, April 28 at 2 p.m. There is a public reception held that same evening at 7 p.m., where the winners are announced. Winners receive a joint show at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery for the month of April the following year.
There are many different gallery exhibits being showcased right now. At the Allie Griffin Art Gallery is “Becoming Human”, a photographer exhibit by Christopher Borshowa. Patrons should note that the Credit Union art gallery is temporarily closed for renovations.
The Arts Council announced their new arts entertainment show on Access 7, “Adventures in Art”. This month’s episode features the James Weir People’s Choice, “Becoming Human” and reception highlights from both events.
Application forms for the Arts Council Adjudication are available at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery, Signal Hill Arts Centre or by emailing [email protected]
