The Weyburn and District Chamber of Commerce held the official kick-off to summer on July 2. The 2013 fair parade was dubbed the Centennial Parade in conjunction with the City of Weyburn's 100th birthday.
"We reached out to make this the biggest Parade in Weyburn's history," said Chamber Manager Jeff
Richards, "and it most certainly was."
This year the Chamber added a new category to the "Best Float" announcements. Best Commercial Float went to Cenovus Energy, Best Non-Commercial Float was Weyburn Synchro Stars and Best Centennial Float was done by The City of Weyburn. Honourable mentions this year went to Crescent Point Energy and the Sanguine Clysdales representing Souris Valley Paving.
The Chamber wishes everyone a fun and healthy summer, and would like to remind everyone to take part in the Homecoming Weekend, August 2 to 5.
