Students from the Drewitz School of Dance, under the direction of Lorie-Gay Drewitz-Gallaway, were tested earlier this year for the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Examination for jazz, ballet and tap exams, badges and medal.
The examiner was Gaetanne Hughes from Mississauga, Ontario.
In jazz examinations elementary major, Kelsey Romanyk and Reese Handley were highly commended.
For jazz badges and medals, in the preliminary jazz badge, Kiarra Biette, Kaitlynn Ricard, Hunter McNabb and Kaitlyn Desrosiers were listed as successful.
In pre-bronze jazz medal, Shayla Gill, Halle Adams, Tyann Babyak, Ava Laevens, Randi Mildbrandt, Ariadne Nagel, Jaycee Neff, Sadie Smith and Makenna Schell earned honours.
Kate Schmidt, Katelyn Zukewich, Hailey Taylor, Marley Nashiem, Bryanna Morrow, Jayla Memory, Lindsay Mack, Cloe Legault, Mercedes Irwin, Logan Hase, Mackenna Empey and Samatha Carritt were highly commended.
Kylie Armstrong, Abbigail Duke, Scarlett Mercer, Brooklynn Ruzicka, Alyssa Saccary, Maya Sands and Ekko Sanguin were commended.
Rya Strilaeff and Amariah Logue received a pass plus.
In bronze jazz medal, Lauren Kobitz, Jersey Long, Kelsey Kowalchuk, Emily Phillips and Shayla Gill were highly commended.
Kaitlin Milbrandt, Elsie Alexander, Olivia Carr, Shayna Fichter, Jenna Fleck, Faith Haberstock, Semia Harding, Madison Hrywkiw, Cloe Legault, Codie Lemcke, Eva Salamon, Tiana Seeman and Lyssa Strilaeff were commended.
In silver jazz medal, Colesey Goetz and Brielle Wakely earned honours. Chauntay Schlosser-Nelson and Kailey Kowalchuk were highly commended, while Sarah Wright was commended.
As for ballet examinations, in the ballet badges and enrichments category, Mya Desrosiers, Aubree Drabek, Taylor Ellis, Sophia Fowler, Morgan Hase, Elizabeth Harmsworth, Jennicka Linthicum, Sierra Mantei, Aspen Mayuk, Peyton McIntyre, Marlow Molstad, Janaye Risdale, Taylor Short and Avery Talsma earned successful distinctions.
As for tap examinations, in elementary major, Reese Handley earned honours.
In tap badges and enrichments, in preliminary tap badges, Samantha Carritt, Tenaya Empey, Sophia Fleck, Gabrielle Gedak, Mercedes Irwin, Ava Laevens, Amariah Logue, Hunter McNabb, Scarlett Mercer, Emma Morhart, Alexis Paton, Annelise Renauld, Rowyn Siever, Sadie Smith and Jaycee Neff earned a preliminary tap badge.
In pre-bronze tap medal, honours went to Halle Adams, Marley Nashiem, Randi Milbrandt, Taya Saigeon and Katelyn Zukewich.
Bryanna Morrow and Eva Salamon were highly commended. Ekko Sanguin, Alecia Wiebe and Maya Sands were commended.
Brooklynn Ruzicka and Alyssa Saccary received a pass plus.
Honours in bronze tap medal went to Kaitlin Milbrandt, Jersey Long, Lauren Kobitz and Emily Phillips, while Tiana Seeman earned a commended recognition.
