An Estevan woman is taking her third shot at being on the front cover of Inked Magazine, by entering an annual contest offered by the publication.
Stephanie Baker enjoyed a lot of success last year, as she reached the top 10 round, finishing just short of the wildcard round.
“I had a lot more fun with last year’s experience, because I was doing so well,” said Baker.
She said she decided to enter again because she has collected Inked magazines for years, and it’s a fun competition to be part of.
Baker has more ink than a year ago, because she has a black and white rose tattoo on her neck.
“My family and friends are especially encouraging,” said Baker. “My friends, they share my Facebook page a lot, so it’s pretty cool.”
Her first tattoo was of her boxer dog’s name on the back of her shoulder. It came when she was 18 and she kept getting more tattoos. Baker’s mother has tattoos, and Baker believe she gained her fondness for tattoos from her mother, who has been very supportive.
“I like that tattoos just show my personality,” said Baker. “I’ve always loved tattoos. They just show who I am and they help express myself. They make me more confident in my body.”
As of Sunday afternoon, Baker was 14th in her group. She needs to finish in the top 10 to advance.
The deadline to vote in this round is Thursday at 10 p.m. Saskatchewan time.
If she were to win, Baker would take home $25,000 in addition to an appearance on the cover of Inked Magazine. People can vote once every 24 hours, and they go support her by going to the Inked Magazine website or through Baker’s Facebook link.
