art adjudication first

Weyburn artist Grace Rose Holyer shows off one of five books of paintings and poetry, entitled, “Shadow Behind the Veil”, which won first place overall in the 2016 local art adjudication. The winners were announced at a reception on April 29 at the Signal Hill Arts Centre by adjudicator Iris Hauser of Regina. Grace’s project was dedicated to missing and murdered women in Canada. The book she is holding was the largest of the five, and took a year to complete with poems throughout the book.
